Professor Peter Dawkins AO
CHAIR
Peter is an economist and educator whose career has spanned academia and government.
He is Emeritus Professor of Economics, Mitchell Institute (VU) and Former Vice-Chancellor (2011-2020) and President of Victoria University (VU)
From 1996-2005 Peter was the Ronald Henderson Professor and Director of the Melbourne Institute at the University of Melbourne, after six years as Curtin University’s first Professor of Economics. He was Deputy Secretary of the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance (2005-2006) and Secretary of the Victorian Department of Education (2006-2010). In 2022-23 he led the establishment of Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA) as Interim Director and Acting Commissioner and is now a Special Advisor to JSA.

Giulia Baggio
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Giulia is an experienced community leader and advocate who has worked in a range of policy areas including housing and transport, regional development, energy transition, workplace relations, superannuation and women’s financial security. She has held senior roles in federal and local government, peak bodies and the media.
Before entering the world of public policy advocacy, Giulia enjoyed a career as an ABC news and current affairs journalist covering politics and industrial relations in Victoria and Canberra.
She enjoys working collaboratively to create evidence-based strategies with practical outcomes to benefit the community. Born and raised in Werribee, Giulia is proud to be championing Melbourne's West.
